Lisa Beckwith- Principal
Lisa Beckwith serves as the principal at Richland Elementary School. She has been in the field of education for 28 years having teaching experience in Kindergarten, Fourth, and Fifth grades. Mrs. Beckwith earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from University of Memphis. She has also earned her Masters of Education and Education Specialist degree in Administration and Supervision from Union University. She has accomplished National Board Certification in Literacy: Reading-Language Arts/Early and Middle Childhood. Mrs. Beckwith has been a part of the Richland family for over 16 years and is proud to be a Redhawk!

Meg Bounds-Assistant Principal
Meg Bounds serves as an Assistant Principal at Richland Elementary. She has been in the field of Education for 26 years having teaching experience in Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and First Grade. Mrs. Bounds earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University. She also earned her Masters of Science in Early Childhood Education, and has earned a Masters of Science in Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Memphis. Mrs. Bounds has been at Richland for the past ten years, and hopes to stay for many more!

Sonja Wright - Assistant Principal
Sonja Wright begins her 25th year in education as the newest assistant principal at Richland Elementary School. She is a passionate educator with a strong belief in the power of education to transform lives. Prior to committing to Richland, she served 4 years as a MSCS district Leadership Advisor, 7 years as a PLC Coach/Instructional Facilitator, and 12 years as a classroom teacher in both Fayette and Shelby County.
Sonja received a B.L.S. in African American Educational Studies (Univ. of Memphis), a M.Ed. in Elementary Education (Freed-Hardeman Univ.), an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership (Lipscomb Univ.) and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education in Organizational and Strategic Leadership from Lipscomb University.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, dancing, and traveling with her husband (Clarence), daughter (Molly), and their Maltese (Fancy).
