Welcome to another year of teaching and learning. We are excited to greet all of our students in grades 1-8 and our staggered entry Kindergarteners, Monday August 8th. The doors will open at 7:45 am for breakfast, which ends at 8:10 am daily. All students will assemble in the gymnasium where the homeroom teachers will call out the names on their rosters and escort them to class.ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL INFORMATIONArrival-Students can be dropped off by the cafeteria or near the gymnasium.Elementary Dismissal by the Cafeteria (Kindergarten-5th Grades)
- The entry and exit to the Elementary pick-up location is only available via Holmes Road.
- Parents should display their car rider tag on the left dashboard & remain in their vehicle. A member of our staff will walk the student(s) to the vehicle.
- When exiting the campus, all vehicles must turn right onto Holmes Road.
Middle School Dismissal by the Gymnasium (6th -8th)- The entry and exit to the Middle School pick-up location is only available via northbound on Tulane Road.
- Middle School students will pick up their elementary sibling when they enter the gym.
- Parents should display their car rider tag on the left dashboard & remain in their vehicle. A member of our staff will walk the student(s) to the vehicle.
- When exiting the campus, all vehicles must turn right onto Tulane Road.

John P. Freeman proudly congratulates second grade teacher, Dr. Melissa Collins, who has been named the 2022 Tennessee History Teacher of the Year. This award is presented annually by The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History, the nation’s leading organization dedicated to K-12 American history education. It is the second award Dr. Collins has received from the state of Tennessee within the last week. Last Thursday, she was named the 2022-23 Teacher of the Year. Inaugurated in 2004, the History Teacher of the Year Award highlights the crucial importance of history education by honoring exceptional American history teachers from elementary school through high school. The award honors one K-12 teacher from each state, the District of Columbia, Department of Defense schools and US Territories.

CONGRATULATIONS Dr. Melissa Collins for being selected as the 2022-23 Tennessee Teacher of the Year! She will represent Tennessee in the National Teacher of the Year competition and serve as an ambassador for education in the state throughout the 2022-23 school year.
