    It is our mission to prepare students for lifelong learning, effective leadership, and a productive life. This compact has been jointly developed and adjusted by Ross Elementary School, parents, and school staff. The purpose of the compact is to outline how parents, the entire school staff and students will share the responsibility for improving student academic achievement and how the school and parents will develop a partnership to help children achieve the State's high and rigorous standards. Please review and sign this with your child.

    PARENT/GUARDIAN'S AGREEMENT l, the undersigned, will be responsible for supporting my child's education in the following ways:

    • Ensure my child attends school regularly and arrives on time.
    • Support the school in its efforts to maintain proper discipline and implement the Student Code of Conduct.
    • Establish a time for homework and review it regularly for accuracy and completion.
    • Encourage my child's efforts and be available for questions.
    • Be a positive role model.
    • Be aware of what my child is learning.
    • Review the weekly progress folder and Power School grades with my child.
    • Assist my child a getting a library card.
    • Return report cards/progress reports and attend parent/teacher conferences.                                                                                                                                                      

    STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY I shall strive to do the following to the best of my ability:

    • Give my parent(s) all school and district rules, policies, and necessary materials from school when they receive them. Attend school regularly.
    • Come to school each day with the appropriate tools necessary for learning.
    • Complete and return all school and homework assignments.
    • Conform to the Student Code of Conduct by following the school's behavior expectations.
    • Wear the appropriate clothing daily.
    • Accept responsibility for my actions and grades and cooperate with others in all learning situations (i.e. bullying, social media, etc.)

    TEACHER'S AGREEMENT The undersigned partner in the education of the children at Ross Elementary, a Title 1 school, commit to the following:

    • Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment
    • Review Title 1 Home/School Compact during parent/teacher conferences
    • Provide ongoing communication with parents through: Wednesday folders, Weekly Newsletters, conferences and phone calls
    • Dedicate time to receiving professional development to gain knowledge which will ensure student achievement.
    • Provide necessary assistance to parents so they can help with the assignments
    • Encourage students and parents by providing frequent student progress reports
    • Provide a developmentally appropriate environment conducive to learning virtually and in-person. Provide homework assignments to reinforce skills taught in class

    SCHOOL'S RESPONSIBILITY

    I, the undersigned partner in the education of children at Ross Elementary, a Title 1 School, will commit to the following:

    • Value and support an environment that understands the importance of positive communication between the teacher, parent, and student.
    • Provide opportunities for parents to volunteer, participate and observe in their child's class and to have reasonable access to staff.
    • Provide parents with frequent student progress reports.
    • Provide multiple opportunities for parent/teacher conferences to discuss academic achievement and the home/school compact as it relates to student achievement.
    • Provide parent workshops and activities on the curriculum and assessments related to their children's education.         
    • Provide an opportunity for parents to assist in jointly developing the school/parent compact which outlines the shared responsibility for improving student academic achievement.
    • Encourage teachers to regularly provide homework assignments that will reinforce classroom instruction.
