I grew up in a military family and have had the opportunity to live in three countries and more than nine states across the US.

I have over 17 years of teaching experience, and hold a  Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate at the University of Louisiana Monroe. My dissertation studies the ability of educators to identify students with mental health challenges in the classroom, to add to the literature to improve best practices in teacher training programs at the university level.
