Ms. Terra Stigger
Dear Parents and students,
I am delighted to be a part of the Sherwood Elementary team. My strongest belief as an educator is that every child can reach ligh levels of academic excellence. Parents, as adults, we must do everything possible to unlock the potential of each and every student. I share the mission and vision of Sherwood Elementary and truly believe that by practicing diligence in all we do as a community we can "provide quality education for all students, empowering them to become life long learners and successful citizens."
We will continue to set high expectations, make new plans, implement new strategies, and use and create new and innovative ideas. Our success is only possible by setting high expectations and standards and by the hard work of our students, parents, and teachers to reach and exceed these expectations and standards.
As an instructional leader, I want to ensure that our students are being challenged and parents are informed of the academic progress we will experience at Sherwood Elementary. Along with academic success, we want students to exhibit good behavior in and out of the classroom. As parents, we want you to discuss your expectations and our expectations with your child. No learning can take place in an unruly and disorganized environment. In order to keep you informed, we will be communicationg weekly through our School/Home Communicator folder, our website, grade level and school-wide newsletters.
I truly believe that each teacher is fully capable, competent, and eager to educate your child and confident that each will meet and exceed your expectations. If you would like to meet with your child's teacher, please call the school to schedule an appointment. This will ensure the learning environment will not be disturbed. My door is always open and I am availible to discuss any praises, suggestions, and concerns you may have.
Thanks to the diligence of our entire community, Sherwood students are definitely "aiming for excellence". The dedication of our students, our families, our staff, and our community is a powerful contagious energy, and instills in me the spirit to do everything possible to become a better educator continuing the Sherwood tradition of pride and excellence. I look forward to meeting and working with all of you in the coming months. Please accept my sincere thanks to all your warm hospitality, support, and encouragement.
May the confidence and skills of all our students continue to grow, as we remain diligent in all we do.
Sincerely,
Terra Stigger
