Guidance Counselor Ward

  • HELLO and WELCOME BACK!!

    I hope that you and your family had a relaxing summer vacation. My name is Kimberly Ward, and I enjoy being the professional school counselor at Oakhaven.  This is going to be a year filled with learning, growing and lots of new adventures as we reimagine Oakhaven Elementary.

    First, I want to take a moment to tell you a few things about myself. I am a native Memphian and a product of Memphis City Schools. I attended the University of Memphis where I graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and my Master’s Degree in Leadership and Policy Studies. I later attended Freed Hardeman University where I received my licensure in School Counseling.  I have two daughters who I am very proud of. My oldest daughter will be entering college this year and my youngest daughter will be a sophomore at East High School.

    This year will be my 25th year in education. I have 15 years of teaching experience and 10 years of experience as a school counselor. I am excited to get this year started. If I can assist you or your student in any way this school year, please don’t hesitate to contact me.  My hope is that this year will be full of fun and successful experiences for all our students.
