Financial aid is money that is given, earned, or borrowed to help students pay for their education. It makes it possible for students to attend colleges that would otherwise be too expensive.
Four Categories of Financial Aid:
· Grants
· Scholarships
· Loans
· Work Study.
Grants and scholarships are considered free money. Click here for more information.
COMPLETION OF THE FAFSA IS THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE FINANCIAL AID PROCESS.
· All students AND their parents will need to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) as soon as possible after October 1st at www.fafsa.ed.gov
· By completing and submitting the FAFSA, students will be considered for financial aid at the colleges they are accepted to as well as the federal and state government
· Both students and parents need to create a FAFSA ID. Click here for more information
